Wardrobe

Most wardrobes are one long rail with a shelf above it, which wastes a surprising amount of height. The fixes are usually structural rather than decorative — a second hanging rail under short items, a shelf divider that stops jumper piles collapsing, or slimmer hangers that reclaim a few centimetres per garment.

We look at wardrobe products through the lens of how clothes are actually retrieved: if you cannot see it, you will not wear it. Boxes with labels beat boxes without. Open shelving beats deep bins for anything you use weekly.

Before buying, measure the internal width, the height between rail and shelf, and the depth of the doors when closed — over-door fittings need door thickness as well.
